Admission to Engineering Technology College

4 units of English
3 units of Social Studies
4 units of college preparatory Mathematics (three units must be algebra I and II and plane geometry)
3 units of Science (all must be laboratory science)
2 units of the same foreign language
1 unit of fine art

Applicants to the Leonard C.Nelson College of Engineering & Sciences must have achieved a minimum ACT Math Score of 19 (or SAT math score of 460).

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Completed application 4 months prior to date of enrollment.
Completed equivalent of high school education with high grades.

Required test scores for admission to WVU Tech are:

Internet-Based: 61
Computer-Based: 173
Paper-Based: 500

Band score: 6.0

Must submit a certificate of finance showing the ability to finance the entire cost of an education at WVU Tech.

Residency Requirements

All transfer students will be required to complete at least 36 hours of credit in residence at WVU Tech prior to their graduation. Transfer students in engineering programs must take at least 24 credit hours of upper division engineering courses in residence at WVU Tech, and these must include the capstone design course(s) for the particular program.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

GPA 2.00 overall and in professional courses (math, science engineering)
Completed college algebra and trigonometry with C or better.
Completed 30 hours of college work. Less than 30 hours will be considered as high school graduates.
