Other Student Support Programs

UAF Orientation is a program offered each semester to help new and transfer students become familiar with the UAF campus. The EDGE (Education, Development, Growth, and Experience) program provides support and resources to traditional first-time freshmen to help them achieve academic success. The program is mandatory for all first-time freshmen under 20 years of age who opt to live on campus. The program creates an alcohol-free living environment that has twice the number of resident advisors and live-in tutors than other UAF facilities.

There are English and Mathematics tutoring labs available to all UAF students.

Student Support Services (SSS) is a program available to students who are first generation college students, financially disadvantaged, or are physical or learning disabled. SSS offers small group tutoring sessions.

The Academic Advising Center is available to all students, as is the Career Services Department. The UAF Health Center is available to those students who pay the semester health center fee. The low student faculty ratio at UAF allows faculty to be accessible to students.
