Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in engineering requires between 120 and 135 credits (varies by program); this includes general university, degree, and program requirements.
Students must take the State of Alaska Engineer-in-Training exam for all except CS degrees.

Master's Degree Requirements

Master degrees require 30 to 37 additional credits beyond an undergraduate degree. M.S. degrees usually require a thesis, although many programs have a non-thesis option. Written and/or oral comprehensive exams as well as an oral defense of thesis or project are required.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

A Ph.D. in Engineering is offered by the college with concentrations in Arctic, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Management, Environmental, Geological, Mechanical, Mining, and Petroleum; written and oral comprehensive exams as well as a dissertation and oral defense are required.
