Engineering College Description and Special Characteristics

The Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) program is one of the largest and oldest ABET-accredited undergraduate environmental engineering programs. Our mission is to prepare engineers to solve complex environmental resources problems. The ERE program strives to educate leaders who will sustain, restore and protect our natural resources and the environment. Humboldt State's ERE program is housed in the College of Natural Resources and Sciences which provides unique opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction with applied scientists to solve environmental problems. Several facilities associated with the ERE program offer research and educational experience for ERE students including:

Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary designed by ERE faculty and treats municipal waste water.

Schatz Energy Research Center has a number of fuel cell patents and is managed by ERE faculty

Campus Center for Appropriate Technology is a student-run organization that demonstrates appropriate technologies for the home.
