Student Support Services
Program provides opportunities for academic development, assistance with basic college requirements, and motivates students toward the successful completion of their bachelor degree. The goal of SSSP is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. SSSP also may provide grant aid to current participants who are receiving Federal Pell Grant.

Student Support Services (TRIO) is a Federal Grant sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. The Federal TRIO Programs are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. At FIU we have the following additional TRIO programs: Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement, Talent Search, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math-Science.
FIU offers all freshmen students a two day orientation program. Mandatory Transfer Student Orientation. Additionally, the College offers a one credit course on the freshman experience and as an introduction to engineering.

- Career Services for Engineering and Computer Science Students.
- Comprehensive Advising Center for Engineering Majors.
- Office of Student Access and Success: provides student services and professional development. Also, assists in recruitment, retention and outreach.
