Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

The admission process to the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences does not differ from the university-wide admissions process. However, it is highly recommended to begin the program with Calculus For Engineers/Calculus I, which requires an SAT Mathematics score of 600, ACT Math score of 27, or credit for a pre-calculus course (e.g., MATH 128 Elementary Functions and Coordinate Geometry).

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission to an Engineering Department does not differ from the University-wide admissions policy.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

The following documents are required in order to be eligible for admission to Liberty University:
• Complete International Application (online) OR (printable)
• Affidavit of Financial Support
• High school transcripts or a secondary education completion certificate with a graduation date plus examination results (in English).
• College transcripts (if any). These must be official copies in English.
• Test of English Proficiency: If English is not your primary language submit one of the following tests:
o A TOEFL score of 61 on the Internet-based TOEFL (or equivalent) is required for undergraduate college admissions. The University institutional code for the TOEFL is 5385.
o SAT or ACT college entrance exam score report. Not required for admission purposes but may be essential for obtaining a Student Visa in your country. The minimum score for admission is 950-1170 for SAT (math and critical reading) and 20-26 for ACT (composite).
o IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.0 is required for undergraduate admissions.
o PTE (Pearson Test of English) score of 51 is required for undergraduate admissions.
o iTEP (International Test of English Proficiency) score of 3.6 is required for undergraduate admissions
• Passport: Please send a photocopy of the photo picture page of your passport that includes your birth date and the expiration date of your passport.
• Send Admissions Essay
*Additional items needed when transferring from another school within the U.S.:
• Transfer Eligibility Form
• Transfer of Sevis Record
• A copy of current I-94 (front and back)
• A copy of current I-20 (first and third pages)

Canadian Students
• Complete International Application (online) OR (printable)
• Send Admissions Essay
• Send Transcripts:
o Official High School Transcripts, unless the student has 60 or more hours transferred from college.
o Official College transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
• Affidavit of Financial Support 2016-2017 - A sponsor letter and bank letter are required. (Note: Canadian students must also provide documentation of support for expenses including books and miscellaneous expenses.)
• Passport: Send a photocopy of the photo page of your passport that includes your birth date and the expiration date of your passport to international@liberty.edu or fax to (434) 522-0430.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Admissions Documents:

You may email your essay to admissions@liberty.edu or submit it online through the Resident Admissions Requirements Form
High school transcripts " unless you are transferring an associate degree: Transcripts Request Form.
SAT (Liberty Code: 5385) or ACT scores (Liberty Code: 4364)
College Transcripts (if applicable)
Note: Liberty University will consider your best composite ACT score. SAT scores are based on Math and Critical Reading Sections only. The Writing section of the SAT is not considered for acceptance or academic scholarships. GPA's are recalculated (unweighted).

Residency Requirements

• 30 semester hours must be taken at Liberty.
• 50 percent of the major work and 50 percent of the minor work must be completed at Liberty University. (This will vary for military students on a SOC agreement.)

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Liberty has a Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA) with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) for students in transfer-oriented associate degree programs.

In order to evaluate your credits, we must have official transcripts from every college or university you have attended. Transcripts must be sent directly from the school(s) to Liberty University in order to be considered official.

To be considered for acceptance, please submit the following documents according to your current status:

If you are transferring without an associate degree or applying as a dual-enrolled high school student:

Submit SAT/ACT scores
Submit admissions essay

If you are 22 or older transferring without an associate degree:
