Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

The B.S. degrees in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and System Engineering require between 125 and 132 credit hours, depending upon discipline. The B.S. degree in Computer Science requires 126 credits. The B.S. degree in Information Technology requires 122 credits. The B.S. degree in General Engineering requires 121 credits. The B.S. degree in Sustainability Studies requires 125 credits. Included in the total credit requirement is course work satisfying the University of New Haven Core Curriculum. Each engineering program includes design projects, engineering laboratories and computer use, integrated throughout the curriculum. Graduation requires a minimum grade point average of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and, separately, a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in the courses of one's major field.

Master's Degree Requirements

The University offers master's degrees in Computer and Information Science (requiring 30-48 credits), Environmental Engineering (33-39 credits), Electrical Engineering (30-36 credits), Industrial Engineering (30-45 credits), Mechanical Engineering (30-33 credits), Engineering Management (54 credits), and in Engineering & Operations Management (30-36 credits). The lower value on the range applies when course waivers are applied. Graduation requires a minimum grade point average of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
