College Description

Engineering College Description and Special Characteristics

Sweet Briar is one of two women's colleges in the United States that offers an ABET accredited engineering degree. We offer an engaging student experience through small class sizes and project based learning. Expert faculty are dedicated to providing individualized attention and to making engineering relevant to students. For example, we have an ongoing collaboration with St. Ambrose University (Davenport, Iowa) and rehabilitation clinics in Bahia, Brazil. In this collaboration, student teams design assistive technology for mentally and physically challenged clients.

All Sweet Briar engineering students are required to complete an internship.
