Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Students must apply to UMD and specify major. Application fee $40. Admission to engineering is given to students with a 3.4 gpa and Math ACT 24 or by individual review. Required high school preparation standards include four years English, three years science, four years math, three years social studies, two years of a single foreign language and 1 year visual or performing arts. ACT or SAT required of all applicants.

Secondary school preparation in science, math, engineering.

Residency Requirements

Complete 30 semester credits at UMD.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

3.0 GPA in previous coursework for Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering. 2.5 GPA in previous coursework for Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Coursework of C or better that applies towards the degree program
