Graduate students are admitted directly by an Engineering Deparment.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Graduate admission to an Engineering Department is on a competitive basis. Undergraduate academic record, standardized test scores such as GRE, and letters of recommendation are taken into consideration in the admission process.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

International applicants must score a minimum of 79 on the Internet-Based TOEFL (IBT) or a minimum score of 550 on the paper test (PBT).

Residency Requirements

Ph.D.: Students must complete a minimum of 36 credits that are unique to the Ph.D. program at UB.
Masters.: Students must complete a minimum of 24 credits at UB.
Only courses applicable to the particular engineering degree are acceptable.
Only those graduate courses completed with a B or better are eligible for transferrable credit.
