Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Minimum cumulative grade point average is 2.00 computed only for courses attempted at Colorado State University. A minimum of 42 semester credits in upper-division courses is required. Of the last 32 semester credits earned immediately preceding graduation, no more than 16 may be completed at other colleges or universities. The College of Engineering requires a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in required engineering, mathematics, and science courses. Students are required to complete professional development requirements. Some majors may have more restrictive graduation requirements.

Master's Degree Requirements

Master's with Thesis-GPA requirement 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree: 30. Thesis may be completed in absentia. Residency requirement: At least 16 credits at 500 level or above. Additional requirements differ between academic departments. Academic departments have additional requirements in some cases. Master's with Courses only-GPA requirement: 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree: 32. Residency requirement: Additional requirements differ between academic departments. Under some conditions credit hours required is 30. Academic departments have additional requirements in some cases.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

GPA requirement: 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree: 72 beyond the bachelor's. Dissertation may be completed in absentia. Master's degree in engineering not required. Residency requirement: Additional requirements differ between academic departments. Academic departments have additional requirements in some cases.
