Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Bachelor degrees in engineering range from 126-141 credit hours, which include the University core curriculum. An additional 6 credits of cooperative education are also required. Students must maintain a minimum gpa of 2.0 overall, in their major. Technical electives are available in each discipline.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a minimum of 126 credits. Co-operative education is encouraged but not required for the BSCS degree.

Master's Degree Requirements

The Master of Engineering degree may be completed through a thesis or non-thesis plan. The thesis plan consists of 24 credits of course work and 6 credits of thesis. The non-thesis plan consists of 30 credits of coursework. Specific course requirements vary by department. All graduate students must earn at least a 3.0 for the degree.
The Master of Engineering Management consists of 36 credits: The Master of Engineering Management degree requires 36 credit hours beyond the baccalaureate degree: 21 credit hours in Engineering Management core courses and 15 credit hours in technical areas of interest. A minimum gpa of 3.0 is required for the degree.
The Master of Science in Product Development requires 36 credit hours consisting of 33 credit hours of course work and a 3 credit hour capstone project/thesis. The program is a two calendar-year (six semester) experience beginning with an intensive full-time two week launch experience, followed by two courses per semester for six semesters. A minimum gpa of 3.0 is required for the degree.
The Master of Science in Computer Science is a 30 credit hour program consisting of core courses, electives and a final project.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

The Doctor of Engineering degree includes the following post-baccalaureate components: A)Completion of four core courses: Design of Experiments, Computer Applications in Experimentation, Optimization for Engineering Problems, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. B) Thirty credits of course work in a specific discipline including any departmental graduate core. C) A minimum of nine credits in approved technical electives. D) Thirty-six credit hours of dissertation, at least 30 of which must be taken after successful completion of the final qualifying examination. All doctoral students must pass two qualifying examinations. Students must complete all parts of the first exam during the first year after admission to the program.
Students must spend one full academic year (two consecutive terms) enrolled full-time (nine credits minimum).
Doctoral students must earn at least a 3.0 for a degree.
