Student Design Projects Description

The Engineering design experience consists of five objectives designed so the graduate will have experienced the extension of the theoretical aspects of engineering to practical applications through laboratory and computer work and appropriate design activities; Be able to design a system, component, or process to meet desired specifictions; Be able to function on multi-disciplinary teams; Be socially responsible, concerned with public safety, health, and the general well-being of humanity; Be able to communicate effectively. The junior design lab gives the experience of a complete design cycle in a team context. In both senior design courses the student is responsible for the design project from start to completion. Faculty members and industry engineers are available for sugggestions and counsel, but the student must shoulder the responsibility for the results. These capstone course are an excellent transition sequence from the academic environment to the workplace.
