Student Design Projects Description

Each student in CECS is required to complete a design course project as a part of his or her
degree curriculum in the senior year. Students propose design projects and work in teams (either by department or interdisciplinary) to identify an engineering and technical problem, conceptualize a solution methodology, formulate and solve the problem, and, finally, implement the results. Engineering ethics and responsibility are covered; written and oral presentations are required at the close of the term.

The best three projects from each department are entered in the annual Senior Design Competition at the end of the winter semester. These projects are reviewed and judged by experts from industry who determine one winning project for each department and an overall winner. The design competition rules and the winning projects for
several years are posted at http://umdearborn.edu/cecs/life-cecs/senior-design-competition

See respective department for more details.
