Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Consistent with Wentworth Admissions Requirements:

-Official transcript from high school, secondary school, or prep school
-SAT score (or ACT score)
-WIT application form
-$50 application fee
-Personal interview (optional)
-Written personal statement (required)
-Written recommendation by a teacher or counselor is required

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

(Secondary School Requirements)
-4 years of English
-Mathematics course of study through the Algebra II level
-One Laboratory Science course (e.g., Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

Pre-calculus/Calculus is required for students applying to Computer Science, Electromechanical, Civil, Biomedical, Electrical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

In addition to the general requirements for admission to Wentworth, International applicants must:

Obtain a score of 79 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL; or Obtain a score of 550 or higher on the paper-based TOEFL; or Obtain an overall score of 6.5, with no subscore below 5.5 on the International English Testing System (IELTS) offered by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and the British Council; or Obtain a score of 53 or higher on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic); or Study for 3 years or more at an English language-based high school (e.g. an IB school, a US high school, an American high school abroad, etc.); or Complete college English I and II at a United States college or university and obtain a grade of C or higher; or Complete the highest level of a Wentworth recognized Intensive English Program and have the recommendation of the program director.

-Submit a copy of the identity page of the passport
-Submit a declaration and Certification of Finances

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Admissions criteria and standards are the same for all applicants regardless of residency.

Residency Requirements

Tuition charges are the same for all full-time students. Academic residency requirement is that 50% of the degree program must be completed at Wentworth. Courses in the third, fourth, and fifth year of full-time study must be completed at WIT.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Admission requirements are the same for all students. Transfer students must submit:

-Official transcripts of all previous college work attempted with course descriptions
-Personal Statement or essay
-Recommendation from a Professor or other professional familiar with student's academic abilities
-Final Official High School transcript
-Transfers who are within a year of graduation from high school must submit results of SAT or ACT scores
-Transfer students must have completed four years of English, a mathematics course of study through the Algebra II level, and a laboratory science. Students applying to Computer Science, Electromechanical, Civil, Computer, Biomedical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering must also have taken pre-Calculus or Calculus
