Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Admission is selective. Students much be admissible to the University of Kansas, and score 22 or higher on the math portion of the ACT test (570 SAT), and have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in college preparatory curriculum. Some engineering programs require a higher math ACT or SAT score.

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission is selective. See above admission requirements to the School of Engineering. Four majors within the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department require a 28 math ACT (660 math SAT) for admission. All other majors within the School requires a 26 math ACT, or the SAT equivalent, for admission.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

3.0 unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale and minimum math ACT score of 22 (540 math SAT). High school graduate. English proficiency as specified by the International Admissions office. Some engineering programs require a higher math ACT or SAT score.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Same as resident.

Residency Requirements

Students must complete their last 30 hours in residence at KU. Students may not exceed 64 credit hours transferred in from community college.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and completion of calculus with a grade of C or better.
