Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline or with strong mathematics or science backgrounds in other subjects are considered for graduate study provided that they have satisfactory overall records (at least a B average is required for admission). GRE test is required. Application for admission and financial assistance for the forthcoming year is best completed by December 31 if a request for support for the fall quarter is contemplated.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Graduate admission is determined by the academic department of PhD and MS programs.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

TOEFL Minimum Scores: 577 on paper-based, 233 on computer-based, or 90 on Internet-based. Some MS programs accept 80. An IELTS score of 7.0 is also accepted for graduate programs.

Residency Requirements

Calculated in terms of quarters of full-time study or its equivalent. Master's degree: minimum of 3 quarters. Doctoral degree: Minimum of 8 quarters (3 of the last 6 must be consecutive and full time).

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer credit is not granted at the graduate level. Up to three graduate level courses could be waived.
