Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission to Engineering is based on admission to East Carolina University. Students admitted to ECU and desiring admission to Engineering are required to either have completed or be qualified to take math at the level of pre-calculus. An essay describing the interest of the prospective student to study engineering is required. Admission to Engineering is considered by a committee of faculty.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students (both internal and external) must meet the following admissions requirements:
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and completed Calculus I with a C or better
- Completion of English I and II or equivalent
- Completion of Chemistry I and lab or equivalent

A two-year community junior college where they were full-time students: 22
A four-year college or university where they were full-time students: 21
