Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Facilities Engineering Technology is 153 semester units. The FET curriculum includes three 60 day practical training experiences; one sea training period aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear, and two industry co-op ed opportunities. The FET Program also requires satisfactory completion of a qualifying exam, administered by the Associaton for Facilities Engineering (AFE), to become a Certified Plant Engineer-in-Training (CPE-IT).

Marine Engineering Technology is 161 semester units; includes three 60 day practical training experiences, two sea training periods aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear and one sea training period aboard a military or commercial vessel. The MET program also requires satisfactory completion of a qualifying exam, administered by the US Coast Guard, to obtain a Third Assistant Engineer, Steam, Motor and Gas Turbine Vessels, Unlimited Horsepower license.
